What caused the death of the character, Glen Carter (the DMV guy), on the U.S. TV series "The Blacklist"?
Glen Carter (Clark Middleton) who was the DMV guy on the U.S. TV series "The Blacklist" died from West Nile virus, a mosquito-born disease for which there's "no known cure". Carter's character on the show had a day job where he worked in the office of the Department of Motor Vehicles, Washington D.C. He however also had a better paying job and separate line of work as a “tracker” for Raymond "Red" Reddington, presumably using his position at the DMV to access personal data and information needed to locate people and objects.
In season 8, after Glen has died, he leaves a request with Reddington. He wants Red to get Huey Lewis to play at his memorial service and to spread his ashes at the Statue of Liberty. Glen had lied to his friends and family. He said that all of his money came from helping Huey come up with the lyrics to some of his songs.
Middleton (born April 1957 in Bristol, TN – died October 2020 in Los Angeles, CA ) was considered an unassuming actor who played Sherilyn Fenn's sleepy husband in the third season of David's Lynch's "Twin Peaks" (1990–1991). He was also the actor who appeared in such genre hits as "Snowpiercer" (2013), "Sin City" (2005), and "Kill Bill Vol. 2" (2004). He was age 63 at his death. He had actively worked in the acting profession from 1983–2020.
