What country has a tradition of hiding brooms at Christmas?

Many countries have unusual traditions, especially at Christmas. Norway has a tradition of hiding all the brooms in the house, normally on Christmas Eve. The belief is that witches will come and steal the brooms to fly/ride around on. Norway seems to be the only country that combines witches in their Christmas traditions. Another Norway Christmas tradition involves a little gnome or elf called Nisse. This elf guards the farm animals and if a bowl of porridge is not put out for him, he will play tricks on the family.

I ALWAYS fly on your Christ's Mass! The Winter Soltice is when I take my annual trip to Father Sun. No one actually knows when Yeshua was born. The early church priests, and others in power believed they would attract more pagans to the new faith by celebrating Yeshua's birth on 25 December; the same day as Dies Natalis Solis Invicti meaning 'Birthday of the Unconquered Sun' and was held on December 25th (when the Romans thought the Winter Solstice took place) and was the 'birthday' of the Pagan Sun god Mithra.
