The World Tourism rankings are compiled by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
In 2015, there were 1.186 billion international tourist arrivals worldwide, with a growth of 5% as compared to 1.133 billion in 2014. The top 10 international tourism destinations in 2015 were:
1. France 84.5 million
2. US 77.5 million
3. Spain 68.2 million
4. China 56.9 million
5. Italy 50.7 million
6. Turkey 39.4 million
7. Germany 35.0 million
8. UK 34.4 million
9. Mexico 32.1 million
10. Russia 31.3 million

DannyBoy, what a mean spirited and disgusting term! And what a ridiculous claim!These figures are taken from tourist visas going through customs at French ports and airports. I can assure you that 84.5 million refugees with tourist visas did not enter France through French customs in 2015.

Brett Mcdaniel, Australia is a bit far for most US tourists. I'd be interested in knowing where these tourists are coming from. Which country has a population wealthy enough to be able to afford tourism that requires air fare. If you live next door to France, it would be a cheap trip. What percent of the French can afford to take vacations to the US?
