Most folks think that Canada is north of the United States and for the most part that is true. However, you may be surprised to know that you will need to travel south from Detroit in America to reach Windsor, Canada.

The 2nd largest border crossing between the United States and Canada, Windsor is the southernmost city in Canada. It is on the southern shore of the Detroit River, due south and directly across the river from Detroit, Michigan. The distance across the border's Ambassador Bridge is less than 1/2 mile.

Windsor, Ontario is in the same latitude range as the California-Oregon state border in the United States, as well as northern Spain.
