What do Toucans do when they spy a prospective mate?

Toucans (Family: Ramphastidae) are very beautiful, social birds. They like to perch high in trees and can be seen feeding their companions or preening them with their long, colorful beaks. Toucans are intelligent birds that enjoy playing games, like beak wrestling and "catch." In fact, a toucan mating ritual involves picking and throwing food back and forth to each other with their beaks. Sounds like a very tasty way to flirt!
