The Vizsla dog breed was first created in Hungary as a pointer and retriever. These dogs have an aristocratic bearing. This dog is popular in both the field and show rings. This is a purebred dog that belongs to the sporting group. The life expectancy is 10 to 14 years, typically weighs 45 to 65 pounds and 21 to 24 inches in height. They are affectionate, loyal and good with kids. Some common nicknames:

The first of our five dogs WAS a Vizsla; we think he was stolen shortly after we returned to our first home. You do say that Vizslas are loyal, so we put away the idea that he ran away shortly after we returned to our original home. I was about five years old when I started having memories of him, and was very impressed when told by my parents that our Vizsla weighed 100 pounds. One hundred pounds sounded unfathomable to me at that age. We had a large side yard for him.
I chose Vizsla as my answer because the dog in the picture was the right color for a Vizsla. Six years would go by before we got our second dog, and we were living in a third home by then.
