What fictional species of alien was in the movie "Alien"?

The "Alien" (also referred to as a "Xenomorph") is a fictional endoparasitoid extraterrestrial arthropodal species that is the eponymous antagonist of the Alien film series. Just as depicted in the Aliens vs. Predator games, the Xenomorphs can also detect their prey using pheromones. Another theory is that the eyes of a Xenomorph are behind their black carapace and they see through it, similar to a one sided mirror (except in this case no one can see in, but the Xenomorph can see out).

Hans Giger, the Oscar-winning artist who designed the creature in Ridley Scott's sci-fi horror classic "Alien", died at age 74 from injuries suffered in a fall in his museum in May 2014.

It is such an arrogance to believe that in the entire, vast volume of space that we are the only 'beings' ....what would be the point of everything else ?

The Giger museum in Gruyères, Switzerland, is an astonishing place with mock ups of some of the set he designed for the alien series, and also a lot of original drawings. It can be a very creepy place. There is a small restaurant bar across the alley way from it, which is like being inside the belly of a creature. All this is set in an exquisite medieval Alpine village surrounded by mountains (real, not a set).

Believe in Aliens? Sure, but I prefer Predeters. In the movie Aliens v Predeters - AVP - I was rooting for the Predeters. And by golly they won, yay team!!

Which phhrase he probably tried to copyright like everything else. Technically, the word "hello" when used on the phone is an Edison patent, as opposed to the "hullo, what's this?" version. Belll, Sears Roebuck and C Montgomery Burns might be preferable after all with "Ahoy hoy"

It has been been my understanding that a creature that can "morph" could change their appearance. This Xenomorph did not morph.

Xenomorph was not the name of the specific species in the movie. When the marines asked "Will this be a stand up fight or a 'bug hunt'?" The reply, was something about a "xenomorph" referring to an unknown life form. It wasn't meant to mean this specific species.
