What is a female camel called?
Female camels are called cows. Just like some other animals, male camels are also called bulls and their young are known as calves.
Camels are large mammals of the bovine family that are adapted to live in arid desert, steppe and prairie regions of the world. One-humped dromedary camels are indigenous to North Africa and the Middle East. Two-humped Bactrian camels are native to Central Asia.
A camel can survive for up to six months without drinking water. When water is available, a camel can drink many gallons of water in a few minutes. Camel humps do not store water; they are fat reserves that nourish the animal when food is scarce.
