What is "Boanthropy" ?
Boanthropy is a very odd psychological disorder in which the sufferer believes himself to be a bovine animal, such as an Ox or a Cow. Sufferers will adopt the characteristics of these animals even to the point of eating grass and walking on all fours.
In the Bible, the book of Daniel documents the case of Nebuchadnezzar, who spent 7 years believing he was an Ox. Perhaps the first reported case!
It is believed this condition is a form of schizophrenia. However, unlike schizophrenia which tends to result in episodes, the disorder can prevail for many years.
