Papaphobia is a fear of the Pope. It is closely related to hierophobia (fear of priests or religious objects). This fear, as a rule, arises from any psychological trauma associated with the Pope (it is difficult to imagine that the Pope has the opportunity to inflict physical trauma on someone). This phobia occurs, as a rule, among Catholics. As with any phobia, the symptoms vary by person depending on their level of fear. The symptoms typically include extreme anxiety, dread and anything associated with panic such as shortness of breath, rapid breathing, irregular heartbeat, sweating, excessive sweating, nausea, dry mouth, nausea, inability to articulate words or sentences, dry mouth and shaking.
