What is the counter-charm to Lumos in the "Harry Potter" series?
The Wand-Lighting Charm (Lumos) is a charm, a light-creation spell, used to illuminate the tip of the caster's wand; this light is fairly warm. The counter-charm for the spell is Nox; it can be used to extinguish the light that came from the wand of caster.
In the world of Harry Potter, the need to unlock a door, to disarm an enemy, or to fix a broken object was habitually handled with charms or magic spells. So, as a student in his school, Harry was required to learn the make up of various spells. The spells which Harry and others learned were used to fulfill everyday to the extraordinary needs. Harry never wanted to be a good or extraordinary wizard without knowing how to properly and appropriately use requisite spells and magic charms.
