Buck, a Briard — French sheepdog, was born on April 26, 1983, as Michael. He was an actor, known for “Married... with Children” (1987), Janet Jackson's music video: “When I Think of You” (1986) and “Backstage with the Bundys” (1992). He died on May 28, 1996.

He was twelve-and-a-half when he retired from “Married... with Children”, having spent eight years on the show. Michael (Buck) died at the age of thirteen, nine months after retiring. In dog years, he was about 91-92 years old when he passed away.

After they noticed that he was easy to work with, they started writing him into more episodes. When he did not have any directions in an episode he would usually lie around in the background, like on the armchair, the stairs or the couch.

Buck had no off-spring but was madly in love with another of his trainers (Ritt's) performing dogs, Frieda, a terrier mix. “They were real close,” Ritt said. “I brought her on the set sometimes”. “They were pretty much in love”. “He was real big, brown and hairy, and she was little with short hair”. “It was pretty funny to see”. “They were a long-time love”.
