What is the freezing point of water?
Water becomes frozen (one may also use the term "solid" to the frozen liquids) at 0 degrees Celsius. The difference between the boiling and the freezing points is equal…to 100 degrees! When Anders Celsius devised his temperature scale, he intentionally chose those numbers because it was easy to remember, based on the boiling and freezing points of water!Simple and easy to remember!
There is also an interesting term known as an "absolute zero". It is -273.15 degrees Celsius.

Evelyn Forbes, it's that way here too there is three different scales to go by we do farenheight , some do Celsius 0 and it's 273 Kelvin all are the degree that water starts to freeze.

judy, it's not water just surrounded by. Freezing here in the US is 32 degrees. Water on or land surrounded by. Been that way my whole 68 years not ashamed any more than in your country it's 0- it's just the way it is. It gets the job done so who cares how we do it as it all means the same thing just different scale usage.

Being a good American, I saw "freezing" and "32 deg", and thought I got this oh so easy one, but I usually try to reread and caught this attempt at trickery. I do know what 0°C and 100°C mean. One needs to READ.
