The Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA /ˈfiːfə/; "International Federation of Association Football") is the international governing body of association football, futsal, and beach soccer. FIFA is responsible for the organisation of football's major international tournaments, notably the World Cup which commenced in 1930 and the Women's World Cup which commenced in 1991.

FIFA currently have 17 laws of the game. Law-2 The ball gives all the required information of the ball's qualities and measurements.

The ball is spherical with a circumference of between 68 and 70 centimetres (27 and 28 in), a weight in the range of 410 to 450 grams (14 to 16 oz), and a pressure of between 0.6 and 1.1 bars (8.5 and 15.6 pounds per square inch) at sea level. In the past the ball was made up of leather panels sewn together, with a latex bladder for pressurisation, but modern balls at all levels of the game are now synthetic.

In competition matches, only footballs which meet the minimum technical requirements stipulated in Law 2 are permitted for use. The ball may not be changed during the match without the authority of the referee.
