What is the highest elevation human habitation in the world?
La Rinconada is a city in the Peruvian Andes located near a gold mine. It is the highest elevation human habitation in the world. It lies at a height of 5,100 m (16,700 feet) above sea level. It sits at the foot of La Bella Durmiente, "The Sleeping Beauty" glacier. Some successful miners in La Rinconada have homes in Juliaca which has municipal services and is at a lower altitude.

Lucky guess. I am a native of Kenya and was raised at 7.000 ft above sea level on the slopes of Mt. Kenya. I now live in Los Angeles California at sea level.

Oh I’ve been to the top of Pikes Peak that’s just over 14,000! In my younger days stationed at Ft. Carson CO, I participated in in a Tactical March up the entire 14 mile road, that means in formation with helmet liner, pistol belt with canteen full of water, fatigues and boots. Once we all reached the top we were trucked back down. But at that altitude there’s is only about 40% of the oxygen in the atmosphere you breath, so everything is much harder to do, but the human body can get acclimated to high altitudes. The people who live at these altitudes are in very good cardiovascular and breath very well.
