A river system is a way of describing the larger networks of streams, lakes and rivers that are part of a larger river's network of tributaries.The Yenisei river is the largest river system that flows into the Arctic Ocean.

The Yenisei River rises in Mongolia and flows northwards where it drains a large area in Siberia before finally flowing out into the Kara Sea in the Arctic Ocean via the Yenisei Gulf. The Yenisei river is 2,136 miles (3,438 km) and is the longest river within the Yenisei-Angara-Selenga-Ider river system.

It is the world’s 5th longest river system. The Selenge river is regarded as its headwaters and it drains into Lake Baikal which is the largest freshwater lake by volume in the world. The Angara river rises from Lake Baikal near Listvyanka and flows through the Irkutsk Oblast of Russia and finally joins the Yenisei river near Strelka. The Yenisei river system finally drains into the Kara Sea with the total length covered of 3442 miles (5,539 km).

The Ob-Irtysh river is a major river in western Siberia and is 3,362 miles (5,410km) long and flows into the Kara Sea of the Arctic Ocean.

The two largest rivers that flow from North America into the Arctic Ocean are the Mackenzie and the Yukon. The Mackenzie–Slave–Peace–Finlay is 2,637miles (4,241km) long and flows into the Beaufort Sea of the Arctic Ocean. The Yukon is 1,980 miles (3,185 km) long and flows into the Bering Sea of the Arctic Ocean.
