What is the longest river in New Mexico?
The Rio Grande is the longest river of New Mexico and runs the entire length of the state. It is 1,896 miles long and the 3rd longest of the United States. Starting in south central Colorado, it flows to the Gulf of Mexico. Part of the River serves as a boundary between Texas and Mexico.

To all the people that say the the Rio Grande is not in New Mexico, please please pick up a map. The Rio Grande goes right thru the middle of the state including Taos Santa Fe and Albuquerque.

Dan Cross "The Rio Grande borders New Mexico.": Nope, the Rio Grande River actually *runs down the middle of New Mexico* and is, in fact part of the Rio Grande Rift Valley (also pretty much dead center of the state).
