What is the meaning of Marie Antoinette syndrome?
Marie Antoinette Syndrome is a sudden whitening of the hair. The event that named the syndrome was the observation that the hair of Queen Marie Antoinette of France turned stark white after her capture after the ill-fated Flight to Varennes during the French Revolution. Witnesses have alleged that Antoinette's hair suddenly turned white on three separate occasions.

majohnson, right, like most upper class people of the late 18th century, she wore a powdered wig. So it was white since she married King Louis XVI, though he wasn't king yet.

I can't help believe it is more hype than truth. Hair is not living tissue and would not change color overnight on its own without something to bleach it.
