"Breakaway" is the title of Kelly Clarkson's second studio album, released on November 30th, 2004. The record follows Clarkson's first one, "Thankful", released in 2003, a year after she became the very first person to win the singing reality television series, "American Idol".

Five singles were released from "Breakway", the first being the title track, followed by "Since U Been Gone", "Behind These Hazel Eyes", "Because of You", and "Walk Away", with the first four all making the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. The "Breakaway" record debuted and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 and managed to stay in the Top 20 of that chart for 61 consecutive weeks, and as of today, has sold more than six million copies in the United States.
