The official name given to shark hunter Quint's (Robert Shaw) boat in the 1975 film "Jaws" was Orca. The boat was named after the only natural enemy of white sharks.

Quint's services as a shark hunter are required in the film after a young woman is killed by a shark while skinny-dipping. She was a tourist who was staying in the New England town of Amity Island. Police chief Martin Brody (Roy Scheider) wants to close the beaches, but mayor Larry Vaughn (Murray Hamilton) will not let him do it. Vaughn says that the loss of tourist revenue will greatly cripple the town. Ichthyologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) and Captain Quint (Shaw) offer to help Brody in capturing or killing the beast. The trio of men finds that they will have to engage in an epic battle of man vs. nature.
