What is the name of the country where the Amazon River ends?

The Amazon River, which has its beginnings in the South American country of Peru, ends by pouring into the Atlantic Ocean in Brazil, near the city of Macapa. This river is about 4,000 miles long. It is considered the largest river by discharge of water in the world and flows through the countries of Peru, Brazil, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, Guyana, and Ecuador.

From the Amazon River alone, it provides about 20 percent of the world's fresh water supplies, which are found in the oceans. With greater than 200 tributaries joining it at some point along its journey, it has more water than any of the world's rivers.

Because of the large volume of water that flows into the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the Amazon, both the tint and the salt content of the ocean is affected for about 200 miles.

My grandson who lives in Italy spent his junior year of high school as an exchange student in Brazil and boating down the Amazon was one of his favorite parts of the trip!!!!!
