This is The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (Μνημείο του Άγνωστου Στρατιώτη) in Athens, Greece. This monument bears two quotations inscribed on the retaining wall: Μία κλίνη κενὴ φέρεται ἐστρωμένη τῶν ἀφανῶν ("... and one bed is carried empty, made for the unknown ones"), and Ἀνδρῶν ἐπιφανῶν πᾶσα γῆ τάφος ("The whole earth is the burial ground of famous men"). The inscriptions flank a central sculpture in low relief, depicting a dying citizen-soldier.

The monument is guarded round the clock by Evzones of the Presidential Guard who are an elite ceremonial unit that guard the Tomb, the Presidential Mansion and the Evzones camp gate.

All Evzones are volunteers drawn from the Hellenic Army's Infantry Corps. There is a minimum height requirement of 1.87 m (6' 1.3") to join. (The average height of Greek men is 5’ 9.5”.) The unit is known for its uniform, which evolved from the clothes worn by the klephts who fought the Ottoman occupation.
