The Serbian dinar is the official currency of Serbia. It replaced the Yugoslav dinar in 2003 when the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia was transformed into the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro. Montenegro and territories in Kosovo had already adopted the German Mark and in 2002 the Euro prior to the dinar's replacement.

Monetary values of Serbian dinar coins are: 1, 2, 5, 10 & 20, while the banknotes are worth 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 2000 & 5000 dinars respectively.

As of February 2021, the Serbian dinar has been a relatively stable currency, being exchanged for in between 117 and 118 dinars per Euro since January 2018.
