The name of the band came from the first initial of each individual band members’ first names. Agnetha Faltskog, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Anderson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstag were the four members of the band. Anni-Frid or Frida and Agnetha sang vocals on a majority of the songs.

S.O.S. was written by Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Stig Anderson. It was released by ABBA in June 1975 on their self titled ABBA album.

SOS reached #1 in Australia, Belgium, France, Germany, New Zealand, and South Africa. It reached #15 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
