Rodeo was adopted as the official sport of Wyoming in 2003. Rodeo is very popular in the state, and for the number of reason it is officially considered the main sport of the state. For example, Casper, Wyoming has been hosting the College National Finals Rodeo since 2001. Moreover, Cheyenne, Wyoming is home to Frontier Days. History also had its impact on it: Wyoming was home to the first paid rodeo nationwide. Rugby has become very popular in the state but it just can't surpass the popularity of rodeo in the state.
