As of 2021, Julio and Enrique Iglesias are the only father and son to both have a top UK single. Julio José Iglesias de la Cueva (b. 1943) was a former Spanish professional footballer as well as a singer and songwriter. His son, Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler (b. 1975) followed in his footsteps and, by December 2016, was the 14th most successful and top male dance club artist of all time according to 'Billboard' magazine.

Julio came to fame in 1970 when he represented Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest. He finished in fourth place with his song 'Gwendolyne'. He went on to have several number one singles in countries around the world. As of 2021, Julio Iglesias is one of the best-selling artists worldwide, with 100 million records sold in 14 languages. He has also released 80 albums.
