"Tara's Theme" is the opening music from and the main theme of the epic film Gone With The Wind. Composed by Max Steiner, it would later have lyrics added by Mack David to become "My Own True Love" by Margaret Whiting. Tara is the name of a fictional plantation in the state of Georgia, in the historical novel "Gone with the Wind" by Margaret Mitchell. In the story, Tara is located 5 miles from Jonesboro, in Clayton County, on the east side of the Flint River about 20 miles south of Atlanta.
