This is a composite "false color" photo of Jupiter's Great Red Spot taken by Voyager I in April, 1979 just before Voyager II arrived for another study

Jupiter is 89,000 miles in diameter, and is considered a gaseous planet, and the largest planet in our solar system.

The Great Red Spot is a raging storm in Jupiter's southern hemisphere, three times the size of earth. It rotates around Jupiter once every 6 Earth days, or 14 Jovian days, with a slight forward drift. It has "lapped" the planet 10 times since the early 19th century.(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Red_Spot 12th paragraph down.)

It was first discovered by Robert Hooke in May, 1664, and is a favorite view of amateur astronomers, as well as professional Astronomers.
