Valhalla (old Norse mythology) is located in Asgard. It is a huge hall, ruled over by the god Odin, who is a widely revered god in Norse mythology, he is associated with healing, death, knowledge, poetry, battle and sorcery.

Valhalla has 540 doors. The doors are so wide that through each door, 800 warriors can walk side by side. The roof is covered with golden shields, and the walls around Valhala are made from wooden spear shafts. This is the place where half of the Vikings who have died in battle come to for their after life.

The other half of the Vikings are given to the Goddess Freya; she always has the first choice for every dead warrior.

Each and every morning the Vikings in Valhalla take their weapons and put on their armour and then walk out onto the plains of Asgard and fight. It did not matter if they lose lives, limbs or heads because when the great dinner in the evening came, they would all be restored to normal again.

In the evening they would return to Valhalla and feast on drinks and the roasted flesh of Saehrimnir ("a giant magical pig").When the cook Andhrimnir cut steaks from the side of the pig, it would grow back immediately. There is also an goat named Heidrun which stands on the roof and eats the leaves of the tree of life called Yggdrasil , while from its udders flows a continuous supply of Mead, down to a huge tub, big enough to make everybody in Valhalla drunk everyday. The Valkyries serve the Vikings , this feast of pork and mead.
