What key planet did the Death Star destroy in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope?

Alderaan was a terrestrial planet in the fictional universe of Star Wars. It was the home of Princess Leia, Bail Organa, Queen Breha Antilles-Organa, and Tycho Celchu. It was destroyed by the Death Star's super laser under the command of Lord Darth Vader. Grand Moff Tarkin of the Galactic Empire by his actions was a devilish snake when working to blown up Alderaan. Two billion people were on the planet when the Empire destroyed this world.

Before being attacked, Alderaan is seen only from space and appears to be an Earth like planet covered mostly in water. Then, it becomes an asteroid belt called The Graveyard after its destruction by the Death Star.
