Diana Dors (1931 –1984) was an English actress and singer who came to public notice in the late 1940s and 1950s as a “blonde bombshell,” in the style of Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield. She was promoted by her first husband, Dennis Hamilton, mostly in sex film-comedies and modelling. After it was revealed that Hamilton had been defrauding her, she continued to play up to her established image, and she made tabloid headlines with the parties reportedly held at her house. Later, she showed talent as a performer on TV, in recordings, and in cabaret, and gained new public popularity as a regular chat-show guest.

In her heyday Diana Dors enjoyed a flamboyant celebrity lifestyle and enjoyed being photographed, as in the accompanying shot of her and her car, a 1948 electric blue Delahaye 175S Roadster.

The Delahaye Type 175 is a luxury, bespoke, coachbuilt automobile manufactured by French automotive product manufacturer Delahaye. It was offered in a variety of styles, exclusively built by coachbuilders. Delahaye did not have its own coachbuilding capability. Production build numbers were formally recorded from early 1948 to mid 1951: 107 Delahaye cars were built, of which 51 were the Type 175. However, in 1953, a fire in the administration and drawing offices destroyed most of its files and technical drawings. As a result little is known about the Type 175 and the longer wheelbased Types 178 and 180 although 25 models are known to have survived through to 2021.
