What plant is this?
Star of Bethlehem (Ornithogalum umbellatum) is a winter bulb belonging to the Lily family, and blooms in late spring or early summer. It is native to the Mediterranean region and is similar to wild garlic. Foliage has arching leaves but does not have the garlic odor when crushed. Star of Bethlehem flowers, though attractive for a few weeks when in bloom, have escaped cultivation in many areas. When this happens, they quickly become a danger to native plant life.

My yard and most of the yards in my area are full of these little beauties first blooming in the spring! We called them "snow drops" when I was little because the yard would be white like snow when in full bloom. Especially pretty where the blue Johnny-Jump-Ups come up and they bloom together!
