What's Harry Potter's dad's name?
James Potter was the only child of Fleamont and Euphemia Potter. He was born late in the couple's lives on 27 March, 1960. James attended Hogwarts from 1971 to 1978, and was sorted into Gryffindor like his father. While at Hogwarts, James met Lily Evans who was also in Gryffindor. James and Lily were married immediately after Hogwarts, sometime around 1978 and 1979.
The wedding was kept very quiet because of the First Wizarding War that was taking place. The war was the result of dark wizard Lord Voldemort's (a distant Potter relative) rise to power.
Harry Potter, James and Lily's son, was born during the height of the war on 31 July, 1980.

Patty K, The reason Harry was put with the Dursley's was to protect him outside of the wizard world. James was the last of his line other than his son Harry.

I was just talking to my daughter about Harry Potter, wondering why he had to live with the Dursleys rather than his father's family. Now I know Harry's grandparents' names but I still wonder...what happened to James's family? Did he have any brothers or sisters?

I love Harry potter movies good thing I went to the wizarding world of Harry potter at universal studios Hollywood that's for sure and it was incredible.

Pat Harmer, I don't believe that as Lily thought of Snape as a friend and fell in love with much to Snapes dismay..it happens all the time.. Then Snape loved Harry because he was the only part of Lily he had left and Harry had her eyes..
I've watched all Potter movies so many times and there is no number 8..Now there is a play is that what your talking about..I've never seen that and quite disappointed they didn't make that into a movie too I think..
It also happens in 13 going on 30 but she gets a second chance at her best friend making him the love of her life.. Jennifer Garner plays the girl..

Pat Harmer, there are only seven Harry Potter books therefore you are referring to the film adaptation which slightly alters/omits aspects of the story and makes it possible to believe that Snape could be his father instead of James. Conspiracy theorists at work!
