The theater burned down at the beginning of the 17th century (1613). The thing is that it was a wooden building so when one of the cannons fired, it set the whole theater on fire. This fire destroyed it within an hour! The disaster happened during a performance of Henry VIII.
The building was reconstructed in 1997.
