What type of sounds do guinea pigs make?
Guinea pigs wheek when they call for food, when they want to be picked up by their owners or are looking for their other guinea pig friends (if one is taken out of the enclosure and the other one is left behind it will wheek looking for its cage mate until it comes back). Sometimes guinea pigs wheek is when they hear its owner make noise with a bag and they think they are going to get a treat or a vegetable.

In addition to squeaks and purrs, guinea pigs may also exhibit the following sounds: Grunts are an aggressive vocalization and usually mean there's a brewing fight or attack. The grunt is a dominant noise made toward the subordinates in a herd. Teeth chattering occurs when the teeth rapidly grind together.

I had one who lived 3 years, his best friend was a cat! They slept together all the time! Also, he loved lettuce. Every time the refrigerator door was opened, he would make the Wreep Wreep sound, so sweet 😋 😍

Not a fan of keeping animals in cages. My daughter once had ferrets, and I felt sorry for them.

According to the rather dubious cite given, they make a range of sounds.
Chutter and wheek seem like sounds the "author" has made up in imitation.
