The Burlingame Museum of Pez Memorabilia was located in Burlingame, California. It was a unique museum that had opened in 1995. It was run by Gary Doss, who had let it be known that he had been collecting Pez dispensers for more than two decade.

Pez (stylized as PEZ) is originally the top brand name of an Austrian candy and is very uniquely associated with manual candy dispensers. This candy is a pressed, dry, straight-edged, curved-corner block 15 mm (5⁄8 inch) long, 8 mm (5⁄16 inch) wide, and 5 mm (3⁄16 inch) high, with each Pez dispenser routinely holding 12 candy pieces. Because the candy was so popular and sold very well in Austria, it was later exported and is still sold worldwide.

Today, despite the widespread recognition and popularity of the Pez dispenser, the company still considers itself to be primarily a candy company, with billions of PEZ candies consumed annually all over the world. The Pez dispensers throughout the world are now also associated with ideas found within the popular cultures of many countries.

Because of the large number of dispenser designs over the years, they have become collectible items of fans and enthusiasts of all ages. They evoke a sense of nostalgia and the Museum of Pez Memorabilia, which was in the city of Burlingame in San Mateo County, California, once offered people a chance to learn about, share and expand their general knowledge of Pez dispensers. Unfortunately, this unique museum permanently closed in July 2019.
