The University of Wisconsin-Madison improved on its reputation from 2015-2016 by grabbing the top spot on The Princeton Review's list of top party schools in the United States for the 2016-2017 academic year.

The Badgers were ranked No. 3 the previous year.

TPR, which also prints a guide for picking colleges, has been ranking party schools since 1993.

The rankings are based on surveys of 143,000 students from 381 schools throughout the country. The survey asks about the habits of Greek life, studying, alcohol and drug use.

West Virginia was ranked second followed by Illinois-Champagne and Lehigh.

Playboy magazine also releases a list of its top 20 party schools, which slightly differs from TPR's.

However, both lists agree that Brigham Young University is No. 1 in the non-party school category. The Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs also ranks high in the no-fun division.
