Nobody will ever confuse the Philadelphia Phillies with a successful franchise. Heck, they couldn't be affectionately referred to as Loveable Losers or just Bums. Nope, these guys have stunk forever, and the good people of Philadelphia have let them know about it throughout their 134-year history.

The Phillies have had some horrid moments during their existence. Who can forget the 1964 collapse where they led the National League by 6.5 games with 12 to play and promptly lost 10 of 12 and the pennant?

But they added to their futility on July 16, 2007 when they became the first franchise in MLB history to lose 10,000 games. The St. Louis Cardinals ushered in the honors, blasting six home runs in a 10-2 rout.

For those counting, through 2016, the Phillies have lost 90+ games 39 times including 14 100-loss seasons. They lost a team record 111 games in 1941.

To date, the Cubs, Pirates, Reds and Atlanta Braves have lost 10,000 games with the Cardinals next in line with 9,887 losses.
