What was the first name of British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's husband?
History

Sir Denis Thatcher (1915-2003) was a British businessman and the husband of Margaret Thatcher (1925-2013), who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 to 1990. Since Margaret was the first female Prime Minister, Denis was the first male spouse of a British Prime Minister. As of 2022, Denis Thatcher remains the last commoner awarded a British title that could be inherited, the Thatcher baronetcy. After his death in 2003, his son, Mark Thatcher, succeeded him as baronet.
Denis initially worked for his family's paint and preservatives business, Atlas Preservatives. He served with the Royal Engineers and Royal Artillery during the Second World War, during which time he married Margot Kempson. Rarely home due to the war, Denis never lived with his wife and they divorced in 1948 after she met someone else. The following year, Denis met a chemist called Margaret Roberts, who would go on to become his wife, the mother of his twin children, Carol and Mark, and the first female Prime Minister of the UK.
Although Denis supported his wife's political career, he refused to talk to the press and only gave short speeches when forced. He always referred to his wife as "The Boss" on these occasions. Due to his business background, Denis was able to give Margaret advice about financial matters.
Denis Thatcher suffered heart problems during the 1990s. He was later diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, from which he died on 26th June 2003.
