Back in the 19th century the Bass & Co Brewery used a Red Triangle logo for their pale ale and in 1876 this logo went on the become Britain's first trademark and as far as we could find, the world's first trademark.

Bass took control of a number of other large breweries in the early 20th century, and in the 1960s merged with Charrington United Breweries to become the largest UK brewing company, Bass Charrington.
