'Golden Cloud' (foaled on July 4, 1934) was the name of stallion horse used as a mount for Maid Marian, played by Olivia de Haviland in the movie 'The Adventures of Robin Hood' in 1938.

A short while afterwards, when Roy Rogers was preparing to make his first movie in a starring role, he was offered a choice of five rented 'movie' horses to ride and he chose 'Golden Cloud'. Rogers eventually purchased the horse in 1943 and renamed him 'Trigger'.

'Golden Cloud' was a 15.3 hands (63 inches, 160 cm) palomino 'horse grade' breed (parentage is unknown, unidentifiable or of significantly mixed breeding).

'Golden Cloud', now 'Trigger', became the most famous horse in the film entertainment industry, having his own 'Dell' comic book recounting his exploits. As 'Trigger', he appeared in 100 episodes over six seasons between December 30, 1951 and June 9, 1957 in 'The Roy Rogers Show.'

After the original 'Golden Cloud' died on July 3, 1965 (aged 30) at Roger's ranch in Apple Valley, California, Rogers arranged for a taxidermy in Los Angeles, California to preserve/mount the horse. The hide was professionally stretched over a foam likeness of 'Golden Cloud' (Trigger) and the resulting mount was put on display in the 'Roy Rogers and Dale Evans Museum' in 1967. The mount was subsequently moved with the museum to first Victorville, California in 1976 and then to Branson, Missouri in 2003.
