Larry Bird wore number 33 for the Boston Celtic. He made the number famous and it was retired in 1993. The year after he retired. He came to Boston from Indiana State University where he also wore the number 33. In fact he wore that number in High School, and College.

In 1978 Larry was the Boston Celtics First Round Draft Pick, but didn't play until after graduating from Indiana State University in 1979.

He played 13 seasons for the Celtics, from 79/80 to 91/92.

In 1980 he was awarded "Rookie of the Year".

In 1981 he helped Boston win the Championship. Then again in 1984 and 1986.

He was known for his buzzer beater shots, which on many occasions won the game.
