The correct answer is the Gulf of Mexico Spill which is officially the largest and worst oil spill ever. It's environmental effect was devastating on an enormous scale. The question calls for the largest and worst, and although the Persian gulf was the worst, it was also deliberate (so not officially recognized as largest and worst), and certainly not the largest environmentally speaking. Please reseasch facts for accuracy before posting

If the persian gulf was deliberate, it was NOT a "SPILL". Therefore the correct answer is the deepwater Horizon oil spill (BP well).

So many comments that the answer is incorrect because it was deliberate, not an accident. Think about that word! "Spill" does not automatically mean accident. It only implies that it was.

The question does not differentiate between deliberate or accidental spills so your comment is erroneous. The answer is correct. The Persion Gulf spill, although deliberate, was in fact the largest and worst oil spill. I believe you misunderstood the question.
