'Not Fade Away' was not on the UK version of the Stones' debut album. It was however the opening track of the version released in USA. It was a mainstay of the band's concerts in their early years, usually used when opening shows. It was revived as the opening song in the band's Voodoo Lounge Tour, in 1994 and 1995.

Can find NO support/authority for this answer. Absolutely depends on the definition of “first hit single” which varies depending on source. Question appears to have been designed to steer everyone to Satisfaction and then play “Gotcha” successfully with only 5% “correct” answers. This is a common Hitman technique and is usually right on the mark. This one is “too clever by half” and not up to the Hitman’s past rigorous standards. When this many answers are considered wrong, the “correct” answer needs to be unassailable. This one falls short of acceptable and should be removed.

WRONG!!! In the United States, a single is considered a HIT when it reaches the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 Singles Chart and stays there for at least one week. Not Fade Away reached 48. Get your facts straight. Satisfaction was their first Hit song.
