When was the Hoover dam completed and handed over to the government?
Hoover Dam, once known as Boulder Dam, is a concrete arch-gravity dam in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River, on the border between the U.S. states of Nevada and Arizona. It was constructed between 1931 and 1936 during the Great Depression. On March 1, 1936, Secretary Ickes formally accepted the dam on behalf of the government.

My dad actually helped build Hoover Dam. He was a Powder Monkey. The sat on a swing type thing and packed Dynamite into drill holes to break away rock where it was needed.

Being a Brit it is an amazing sight when flying over it in a helicopter. The perfect way (to me at least) to end a flight over the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead

I went on a rafting trip there. Started at the dam and ended up in Arizona. Then we rode a bus over a bridge back to Nevada.

Guessed wrong, I thought they were building it just before my daughter was born, but it was built and handed before I was born in 1941!!!!!
