When was World Vegan Day established?
It is celebrated on the 1st of November
This annual event is celebrated by vegans on the 1st of November. It was established in 1994, though principles of "veganism" were set up in the early 20th century. Activists around the world join together to protect animal rights. They make a lot of bakery and give out soymilk and tofu.

Why does the world need a "World Vegan Day"? If you're a vegan, shouldn't that be every day?

Not eating meat is a philosophy. There are other forms of nourishment available. Normally they are a supplement to a meal when in fact they can be the complete meal.

MORNINGSTARBLADES, a lot of vegan are against industrial farming and mistreatment of animals for Mass consumption. It's a horrific sight. They're for more humane methods. Nutrition is not always they're only motivation.

They make a lot of bakery?
Maybe "they make a lot of baked goods".
Or maybe "they make a lot of bakery items".
"They make a lot of bakery" is an incomplete thought.

Irene Townsend, Not a vegan myself and don't see it's a cause for celebration, but the vegan society was established in 1944, first proposing the day in 1979. Not that recent a 'fad'.

My thought was that with this vegan rubbish, it is a very recent fad so picked the most recent year, 1994. People can choose to be vegan or vegetarian, but certainly not me

Neil L. Hoopes, it's to raise awareness around the world.
Otherwise it would be called "Me Vegan Day"!

Terry Cannon, being obnoxious about one's cause is never a good way of promoting it!

Colin McPherson, that is not their intention, but a side-effect.
My local butcher sells a good range of vegetables and cheeses. Diversify to retain the changing market

Joanna Lotoczko, maybe he IS a carnivore, but it's not a healthy diet.
It's a fact that some people never eat vegetables. I had a colleague who hated veg - unfortunately she was a vegetarian! Another unhealthy diet.

Terence Tomes, a matter of individual taste. I do eat meat, but I'd rather have broccoli than bacon any day.
And please remember that you didn't make it to the top of the food chain by your personal efforts!

I know several Vegans and they are very proud of it, yet kind of obnoxious. They look very unhealthy, and see to get sick frequently.

As a third generation retail butcher, these weird philosophies always annoyed me as they attempted to send us broke.
