Brant Point Light is a lighthouse located on Nantucket Island. The station was established in 1746; it was automated in 1965. And, currently it is still in operation.

The existing lighthouse tower was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 28, 1987. It has the distinction of being the tenth light used on the point. Four of the other lights burned or blew down, two were condemned, two lights worked unsatisfactory, and one light still on the point is standing unused.

The existing lighthouse structure has now lasted for over 110 years and is a welcoming symbol to all visitors. Many visitors who subsequently come to this area often toss a penny into the sea. They perform this act as they leave the harbor to ensure that if they return someday they will receive a warm and genuine greeting.
