Where is the Adriatic Sea located?

The sea is actually a water border between the Italian and the Balkan Peninsulas. It's known as one of the relatively shallow seas: the southern part of it is said to be the deepest one. Its maximum depth measures approximately 4,050 ft. Besides Italy, the sea washes the shores of five other countries. Moreover, one of the remarkable features of the sea is its rich flora and fauna. It is a home for hundreds of various seaweed, octopuses, fishes, arthropods and echinoderms.

My daughter Helen and her family live in Rabac (Croatia) right on the Adriatic a most beautiful spot. Having driven all through Croatia the Adriatic is gorgeous to see and Helen's husband and her 2 boys regularly go out on their boat to catch fish and they always come back with what they want to catch - and her husband is not a fisherman!!

Had a holiday in Croatia , lovely place but no Beaches , just a rocky shoreline onto the Adriatic . What we did feel was the Adriatic was cleaner than the Med .
