Marie Sklodowska was born in Warsaw, Poland on November the 7th, 1867.

She was not able to attend the male only university in Poland. Marie eventually was able to attend the Sorbonne in Paris. She completed her Masters in Physics in 1893 and completed her Masters of Mathematics the following year.

Marie, along with her husband Pierre won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1903, making her the first woman to do so. In 1911 Marie won the Nobel prize in chemistry, the first scientist and only woman to win two Nobel Prizes in different categories.

Marie Curie passed away in Passy, France on July 4, 1934.
