Anthony Lewis Bellew (born 30 November 1982) is an English former professional boxer who competed from 2007 to 2018. He held the WBC cruiserweight title from 2016 to 2017, and challenged for the undisputed cruiserweight championship in his final fight. At regional level, Bellew held the British and Commonwealth light-heavyweight titles between 2010 and 2014, the European cruiserweight title from 2015 to 2016, and is a three-time ABA heavyweight champion as an amateur.
Bellew portrayed antagonist boxer Ricky Conlan in the 2015 Rocky film "Creed". A highly formidable yet arrogant British boxer and the world light heavyweight champion.
"Creed" has Michael B. Jordan starring as Adonis "Donnie" Johnson Creed, Apollo Creed's son. Donnie fights Conlan at Goodison Park in Conlan's hometown of Liverpool. In the fight Conlan knocks Donnie down, but Donnie recovers to knock Conlan down for the first time in his career. Donnie goes the distance, but Conlan wins on a split decision. However, Donnie has won the respect of Conlan and the crowd. The boxing commentator Max Kellerman puts it while calling the fight for HBO, "Ricky Conlan won the fight, but Adonis Creed won the night." Conlan tells Donnie that he is the future of the light heavyweight division.
